The tallest mountain in the world, over 10,000m from the base (under water). Following Maunakea Trail and coming down following the road (longer but easier - very boring). Total ascent of 1500m. Plenty of stops on the way up to avoid altitude sickens as starting point for the climb (car travel) is at sea level in the morning (Hilo). Perfect weather and view from the top. I did not climbed actual peak ( 5min walk) as a sign of the respect to Hawaiian people (big sign before summit) but reached top of the road to highest telescope which has the same altitude.
The original plan was to climb SW Ridge but weather was so bad that safer option was NW Ridge. Left Colin Todd Hut at midnight to maximise "good" weather window. Beautiful sunrise from the summit. Walking back from the summit via French Ridge Hut and Aspiring Hut
Approach from the South side with help of cable car(s) and chair lift to new barrels. Summit day without help of snow cats. Descent to the North side travelling over glacier with wild and unspoilt scenery definitely worth extra money and extra physical effort.
Start walk from 2200m to Camp 1 at 3200m. Next day climb Camp 2 at 4200m. Summit day: early start at 1am, climb the summit and descent to Camp 1 with few hour rest at Camp2. Last day descent to car drop point and travel to Dogubayazit. Company used: http://www.mountararattrek.com/
Aconcagua 360 route via Vacas Valley to Plaza Argentina Base Camp, summit and descent to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp. Great weather with beautiful view from the summit. Very well organised and supported by Inka Expediciones.
Jebel Um Adaam is the highest mountain in Jordan, located in the south edge of the of Wadi Rum on Saudi Arabian border. Rock scrambling in 40 degree heat makes this climb bit harder. Fantastic view from the peak over Jordan/Syria desert.
Winter ascent. Used Staircase Spur to get to the summit and returned via Eskadale Spur back to Mountain Creek picnic area with overnight camping not far from Michell?s hut. Blizzard conditions on top with zero visibility and very cold night on the snow.
